Develop your own solar-powered cooling solution

The SelfChill team together with Don Bosco Solar invites to the BeCool Course on 11th-13th June 2024 at Don Bosco Technical Institute, Tema, Ghana

Solar cooling solutions can be used in many areas: Solar-powered cold rooms for cooling fruits and vegetables at farms, freezing rooms to store fish or meat, solar air-conditioning for buildings and residential application. This training introduces the topic and provides tools to develop your own cooling project.

Training content:
– Introduction to photovoltaic systems and cooling technologies
– Cooling systems based on thermal storage with water chiller (DC)
– Cooling and freezing rooms (AC)
– Solar air conditioning
– Design and sizing of solar cold rooms
– Remote monitoring and control for cooling systems
– Agricultural value chains and cooling
– Business models: ‘Productive Use of Energy’
– Group work: Develop your own cooling project

Technicians, solar installers, NGO / GO representatives, farmers etc

About SelfChill and the BeCool Ghana Project:
The event is organized by SelfChill and is part of the project BeCool Ghana. Be Cool stands for Business Empowerment with Solar Cooling Solutions. The project BeCool Ghana aims to implement solar cooling technologies in Ghana, transferring knowledge on solar cooling technologies. The BeCool Ghana project is a joint project of Phaesun GmbH and Solar Cooling Engineering GmbH located in Germany that are pioneers in solar cooling with the brand SelfChill.
The project was co-financed by DEG Impulse from public funds of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.

Registration Form

The training is offered free of charge, snacks and drinks are offered. Transport costs and accommodation are not covered. The number of participants is limited to max 20. Training participants will prepare a group work and get a certificate, participation at all 3 days is mandatory to receive certificate.

Registration for the training is only possible via this online registration form. Registration is open until 01.06.2024. Participants will be selected according to the answers in the complete registration form. Confirmation will be sent after 01.06.2024.
