The SelfChill Cooling Unit is the core component of every off-grid cooling solution. The technology is specially designed for tropical regions where electricity prices are high, service is unreliable, or grid infrastructure is unavailable. Additionally, it is designed to operate entirely on solar power and achieve high levels of efficiency even under challenging conditions.
SelfChill offers a wide range of cooling applications for the rural economy, such as cold rooms for horticulture and fruiticulture, milk cooling for small- to medium-scale applications, ice blocks for fisheries, and other post-harvest processes that require cooling. With its modular design, several units can be connected to deliver the desired cooling power, enabling us to create various system configurations with flexibility in size, temperature range, and cooling medium.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
The SelfChill Solar Cooling Unit is a hermetically sealed vapor compression heat pump. Its low starting current allows it to operate without requiring batteries. However, a small and optional battery bank can be used to extend the operation of the cooling units after sunset by utilizing surplus energy.
The unit includes a compressor, condenser, evaporator plate, and control unit. It generates cold thermal energy, which is stored as frozen water in an ice storage unit and can be used for various purposes.
