Efficiency for Access (EforA) supports the development of key components for solar refrigeration!
Solar Cooling Engineering has been awarded through the Efficiency for Access Research and Development (R&D) Fund from UK Aid and IKEA Foundation for the development of key cooling components that can be built locally by small-scale farmers, entrepreneurs or local companies. This reduces costs and allows the cooling systems to be adapted to the individual’s needs, value chains and local context.
Our objectives are highly inspired by the challenges we have faced in the past by piloting cooling systems in the field. The main aim is the development and commercialization of components suitable for:

Customisable systems that are easily to adapt to the end user‘s needs.
Key components plug & play to facilitate the rapid creation of first prototypes or replace easily in case of malfunction.
High reliability and performance through intelligent controls and remote monitoring for maintenance.
Optional PAYG, which allows to reach a bigger market, where high investment costs or loans are not accessible
A competitive price, duty free in most countries and unbeatable low transport cost.
Final Systems commercialized under own brand name of our partners.
